DUAT and DUATS are particular about the format of flight plan information. If you have problems uploading your flight plan in RTFP, do one of two things: edit the basic aircraft information stored in RTFP, or contact DUAT/DUATS for assistance with direct filing online. In any case, you must supply detailed information about your aircraft.
To edit basic aircraft information of an aircraft model:
Click Edit >Aircraft Data >Edit Current Aircraft to display the Edit Default Aircraft Model dialog box and the Basic Info tab. This section edits the aircraft that is set as the default.
For an aircraft not set as the default, clickEdit >Aircraft Data >Select Aircraft Data. Select the pilot aircraft model on the left, and clickEdit to display the Edit Aircraft Model dialog box.
If you have problems filing a flight plan, contact DUAT/DUATS for assistance, or connect in a textual interactive session (rather than via RTFP command lists) to manually file the flight plan.
Contact DTC DUAT at 1-800-243-3828 or http://www.duat.com.
Contact CSC DUATS at 1-800-345-3828 or http://www.duats.com.
Whether you store information about your aircraft in RTFP or enter it interactively in a DUATS session, you need to supply the information in a particular format. The following hints can help you:
You can find the current aircraft type codes at the FAA website: http://www.faa.gov/airports_airtraffic/air_traffic/publications/atpubs/CNT/5-1.htm.
If you are logged on to DUATS/DUAT interactively, enter "?Cessna", "?Piper", or similar information when prompted for an aircraft type. Then follow the instructions.
Your phone number must be in the correct format. If DUATS stops in a field where you entered a phone number, verify that the phone number was entered in XXX-XXX-XXXX format, not (XXX) XXX-XXXX.
DUATS/DUAT only accepts the aircraft color codes listed here. Your electronic flight plan file fails if you do not use the exact spellings or abbreviations shown (12 characters maximum). Your aircraft’s base color should be entered first, followed by other colors. All colors should be separated by a slash '/'. Example: 'WHITE/BROWN' or 'W/BR'.
