Standard Wx Route Briefing Fields

Departure Time — RTFP suggests a time. You can edit this suggestion as needed. Check the Zulu box to have RTFP convert local time to Zulu time. Ensure that the Windows Date/Time Control Panel is properly set up for your time zone. If you are traveling to a different time zone with your notebook computer, take the time difference into account; or consider changing your system time to display the correct local time.

Estimated Time Enroute
— Do not use colons when entering your time enroute. For example, one hour and 30 minutes should look like 0130, not 01:30.

Aircraft Registration Number
— Verify that the registration of your aircraft is accurately represented. This number defaults from the aircraft that you selected during your Route Planning process. If the tail number is not accurately entered, perform one of the following actions:

NOTE: RTFP does not complete a briefing if this field contains an invalid number.

Briefing Type — Select Plain Language to get a “decoded” briefing. When you choose plain language, also select the FAA Weather check box to download AIRMETs, SIGMETs and METAR data to display in the Enroute Chart View. Plain language briefings tend to be very long.

Weather Advisories — Select the following options as desired:

Routing — The routing information displays from the route displayed in RTFP. If you did not complete a route or want weather information on a different route or area, complete or modify these parameters.

Route
Corridor Width — The width along the route in NM for which METAR tooltips are returned.
