A theme displays a particular set of chart objects and symbology associated with different zoom levels. The Enroute Chart View provides six themes: Default, Low Altitude, High Altitude, VFR, Euro VFR, and Atlas. Each theme can be customized according to your needs.
To change the theme, perform either of the following actions:
On the Main toolbar, select a theme from the Chart Theme drop-down menu.
Right-click in an open space of the Enroute Chart View. Choose Vector Chart Themes, and then select the desired theme from the submenu.
Not all chart objects display depending in every theme. For instance, the Low Altitude enroute theme does not show airspace above 18000 feet unless it is an active SUA.
Each theme has a default set of chart elements that display at specific zoom levels. You can customize any theme that is displayed with your preferred set of chart objects and symbology at a specified zoom level.
To customize a theme:
Select one of the preset themes from the drop-down list or Enroute chart right-click menu.
Change the preferences (chart objects) currently displayed by performing either of the following actions:
Use the Preferences toolbar to turn on and off chart objects (not all chart preferences are available on the Preferences toolbar).
Right-click an open area of the enroute chart and click Properties. In the Properties dialog box, click the Chart Preferences tab and select (or clear) the check boxes for the elements desired.
Using the Chart Preferences option in the chart Properties dialog box gives you more options and control of what chart elements are seen in the Enroute Chart View.
Expand the list to reveal additional options by clicking the plus sign (+) to the left of a preferences category check box.
Move the zoom slider in and out to view displayed chart elements at different zoom levels.
Perform one of the following actions to revert to the preset displayed theme:
Click Chart > Reset Theme Default.
Right-click in an open area of the Enroute Chart View, and choose Reset Theme Defaults.
If Reset Theme Defaults is not available, you are currently working in the preset theme.
