Renaming and Removing the Route

You can rename the displayed route and remove a route to view a fresh screen.

Renaming the Route

By default, the generated route name is the departure and destination airport used in the route planning tool (that is, KAST -> KACV). If you like to plan multiple routes between your departure and destination airports, you can change the route name so your routes do not get overridden when saved to the server. Use the following method if you want to customize the route name:

  1. Right-click the displayed route on the enroute chart.

  2. Select Properties.

  3. Edit the name in the Route Properties dialog box.

  1. Click OK.

If you change the name of a route that has already been saved to the server, the original route still exists on the server with the previous route name.

Changing the Flight Rules

You can change the flight rule for your route to any of the options in the Flight Rules drop-down menu. The change is reflected in the FAA flight plan form in block 1 or in the ICAO Flight Plan form in block 8. Changing the flight rules does not re-plan the route, or change altitudes or weight and balance. To re-plan a route, use the route planning tool and input the information into the Flight Plan dialog box.

Removing a Route

If you want to save or delete a route from the server, see Managing Routes on the Server. If you do not want to see the displayed route on the enroute chart view:

  1. Right-click the displayed route in the enroute chart.

  2. Select Delete from the shortcut menu.

Deleting the route from the enroute chart does not delete the route from the server if it was previously saved, and it does not automatically save the route to the server.
