How to Use Online Help

Before using Jeppesen Internet Flight Planner (JIFP) for the first time, you should familiarize yourself with the program by viewing the online tutorial, which you can access by opening the program and clicking Help > Online Tutorial (Web Site).

The following information is found in the JIFP Help file:

Context-Sensitive Help

Context-sensitive help is available for many of JIFP's features and offers specific information about a selected item. Two types of context-sensitive help are available in JIFP:

Using the Index

The online help file includes a comprehensive index to assist in your search of interested topics. To find a topic using the index, click the Index tab at the top left of the Help file window. Type a keyword into the input area and view the results of the search.

Printing a Help Topic

If you would like to print a help topic for JIFP, treat the topic as if it were a web page. The following suggestion is for printing with Microsoft® Internet Explorer:

  1. In the Help topic, select all the text and graphics that you want to print.

  2. Click the Print Topic button, , on the help navigation bar, or click File > Print.

  3. Click the Options tab, and select Only the selected frame.

  4. Click Print.

Viewing Options in Internet Explorer

If you are using Microsoft® Internet Explorer, you have the option to launch a new window for viewing online Help as opposed to re-using the browser window you already have open.

  1. Click Tools > Internet Options.

  2. Click the Advanced tab.

  3. Clear the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts check box.
