Viewing Winds Aloft

When a standard weather briefing is downloaded from DTC DUAT, CSC DUATS, or Jeppesen Wx, wind data displays in the Profile View, Enroute Chart View, and in the expanded NavLog.

NOTE

If you download Plain Language briefings, select the FAA Weather check box. JIFP uses the FAA format to calculate winds aloft data in your flight plan.

In the Profile View, winds are displayed as blue arrows at different altitudes. The arrow length indicates the relative strength of the wind component. The longer the arrow, the faster the wind speed. To view the direction, speed, headwind, and crosswind for a specific wind and altitude, hover your cursor over the blue wind arrow, and a tooltip appears.
